You might think of belly-dancing as nothing more than restaruant entertainment, but Miles Copeland, founder of IRS records (and brother of Stewart Copeland of The Police, and son of founding agent of the CIA), thinks otherwise.

And being that Cioeland is the same man who not only took note of Punk and Rock en Espanol before they broke the mainstream (along with launching the careers of such little-known bands as R.E.M, The Bangles, etc...), you mightwant to heed his latest interest.

It was after Sting's hit single "Desert Rose" that Copeland began dabbling in Arab music, resulting in the discovery of belly dance. Forming the Belly Dance Super Stars in 2003, their touring schedule has been almost nonstop-while taking the time to release instructional DVDs, as well as a documentary: American Bellydancer, directed by Jonathan Brandeis....
